Overview
Our team was recently commissioned to carry out a full flue system installation for a domestic property in Thatcham, Berkshire. The client wanted a wood burning stove but had no chimney and so required a fully compliant twin wall flue solution – from supply and bespoke design to complete installation.
Scope of Work
This was a turnkey project delivered entirely by our in-house specialists, covering:

Challenges Overcome
One of the key challenges involved working within the constraints of an existing building layout, where space for the flue route was limited. Our team conducted a detailed on-site survey and engineered a bespoke solution that allowed the flue to be routed efficiently while maintaining:
- Full compliance with Building Regulations (Document J)
- Required clearances from combustible materials
- Optimal draft performance for the stove
Weather conditions during installation also presented logistical hurdles, but with careful planning and the use of appropriate access equipment, we ensured minimal disruption and completed the job on schedule.
Outcome
The final result is a high performance, safe, and visually comfortable stainless flue system that perfectly complements the wood burning stove setup. The client was especially pleased with the seamless process from first consultation to final sign-off.
