Onyx

Onyx Luxury Fires & Stoves

Onyx is the premium fireplace and stove brand from the Stovax Heating Group, created to combine advanced heating technology with a more design-led, luxury finish.

The collection now includes electric fires, gas fireplaces, gas stoves and solid-fuel stoves, making Onyx one of the few premium brands where customers can choose between several fuel types without moving away from the same overall design philosophy.

Bonfire is an authorised Onyx retailer with over 10 years’ experience working with the wider Stovax Gazco group, offering supply-only and professional installation options.

Choose Onyx by the Experience You Want

Onyx Electric Fires

Onyx electric fires are designed primarily for customers who want a highly visual fireplace with flexible installation and no need for a chimney or gas supply.

The collection covers everything from compact inset fires to wide panoramic models suitable for media walls and purpose-built feature walls.

Onyx Avanti

The Avanti electric collection is available in several wide formats and can be installed as a one, two or three-sided fire. This makes it particularly useful for media walls, projecting chimney breasts and open-plan features.

Avanti uses Onyx’s Chromalight® Plus lighting system and can be controlled by handset or app, with multiple lighting settings allowing the flame and fuel bed to be adjusted independently.

Onyx Avita

The Avita range focuses heavily on flame realism and premium fuel-bed presentation. Current models are available in 120, 160 and 190cm formats, with premium non-reflective glass and one, two or three-sided installation options.

Selected Avita models can also be upgraded with real oak logs, while the Turin suite provides a simpler flat-wall installation option for selected sizes.

Fusion, Mirage & Orbit

The Fusion 150RW adds a highly customisable illuminated fuel bed, while the Mirage 40i provides a more compact electric option suited to conventional fireplace openings.

The Onyx Orbit is completely different again: a suspended electric fire designed to create the visual effect of a floating fireplace rather than a conventional inset installation.

Onyx Gas Fires

For customers who want a genuine flame with convenient remote control, Onyx offers several premium gas options.

Avanti Gas

The Avanti 65 and Avanti 85 are landscape gas fires available in both conventional-flue and balanced-flue versions.

This provides significantly more flexibility than a gas fire offered in only one flue format. Balanced-flue models can suit properties without a conventional chimney, subject to the required terminal and flue route.

Features include thermostatic remote control, realistic ceramic logs, premium glass and EchoFlame™ black glass lining.

Eclipse & Liv 3

The Eclipse 60HL is a high-format inset gas fire using Onyx ImmersiFlame technology to create depth within the flame picture.

The Liv 3 takes a different approach, using three-sided glazing to create a freestanding gas stove with approximately 180 degrees of flame visibility. Conventional and balanced-flue versions are available.

Onyx Athos & Olympus Stoves

In 2025, Onyx expanded into solid fuel with the launch of the Athos and Olympus wood-burning and multi-fuel ranges.

The two ranges share similar combustion technology but have deliberately different styling:

• Athos – traditional proportions and heritage-inspired detailing
• Olympus – cleaner lines and contemporary styling

Both are available as a dedicated 5 wood burner with a nominal output of approximately 4.8kW and a wider 5 Wide model at approximately 5kW with a fixed grate allowing occasional use of suitable smokeless fuel.

Current Athos and Olympus models are Ecodesign compliant and DEFRA-exempt, making them suitable for use in UK Smoke Control Areas when operated in accordance with their exemption and manufacturer’s instructions.

They also include Cleanburn, Airwash, external-air compatibility and the ability to be installed on a suitable 12mm hearth where installation conditions permit.

Electric, Gas or Wood?

The right Onyx depends on what matters most to you.

Electric provides the greatest installation flexibility and is particularly strong for media walls and feature walls. Gas delivers genuine flames with remote-controlled heat and can provide substantially more output. Wood burning provides the traditional real-log experience and requires a suitable chimney or professionally designed flue system.

This makes Onyx particularly useful where the design of the fireplace is important but the preferred fuel has not yet been decided.

Onyx Media Walls & Fireplace Installation

Bonfire regularly incorporates Onyx fires into custom fireplace structures and media walls, including one, two and three-sided installations.

Our design and installation service can include:

• Fire and size specification
• False chimney breast and media-wall design
• TV and fireplace positioning
• Gas supply and balanced-flue planning
• Existing chimney assessment
• Wood-burning chimney liners and twin-wall flue systems
• Gas Safe or HETAS installation where applicable
• Testing, commissioning and aftercare
