Wanders is an independent Dutch manufacturer producing wood-burning stoves, inset fires and gas fireplaces at its factory in Netterden, Netherlands.

Wanders WAN Wood Burning Fires

The WAN collection provides some of the most adaptable wood-burning appliances in the range.

Current Bonfire models include the WAN 2060, 2068 and 2075, with nominal outputs progressing from approximately 5.5kW to 7kW.

Different configurations include freestanding, wall-mounted and frontal inset versions, allowing the same clean rectangular design to work in several different types of installation.

Black Edition models provide a darker, more minimal finish, while loose or fixed handle options are available across selected appliances.

Wanders Square & Corner Wood Fires

The Square collection places much greater emphasis on viewing the fire from several directions.

Models such as the Square 60 and Square 68 use three-sided glazing, making them effective when the appliance projects from the wall or forms part of a purpose-built fireplace feature.

Wanders also offers S60 and S75 Edge corner fires with left or right-hand glazing, while the Square 75 Double Sided can create a visual connection between two rooms or different areas of an open-plan space.

These appliances should be planned with the surrounding structure and flue before construction begins.

Ash, Mata & Statement Wood Burners

Wanders also offers freestanding models where the base becomes part of the design.

The Ash collection is available with steel, wire, timber and log-store bases while retaining an output around the popular 5kW level.

The Mata is larger at approximately 7.7kW and can be configured on curved, oval or bench-style bases.

For customers wanting greater visual presence, the Black Pearl, Black Sapphire and Black Diamond ranges offer pedestal, log-store and wall-mounted formats with outputs generally suited to larger spaces.

The choice of base can substantially change the appearance of the appliance without necessarily changing how much heat the room actually requires.

Wanders Danta Gas Fires

The Danta is one of Wanders’ most flexible gas-fire collections.

Rather than offering only a standard front-facing version, selected Danta sizes can be specified in front, corner, three-sided, room-divider and other multi-glass configurations.

The range also covers very different heating requirements. The Danta 500 currently produces around 6.8kW, while larger models such as the Danta 1400 can reach approximately 14kW.

Selected models use Wanders Eco Wave technology, allowing the flame pattern and heat demand to be adjusted, with Wi-Fi control available as an option.

Wanders Lenga, Koto & Square Gas

For large built-in gas-fire projects, the Lenga range offers front, corner and three-sided formats with strong heat outputs and large flame views.

The Koto provides a double-sided tunnel configuration, making it suitable for fireplaces positioned between two spaces.

More compact installations can use the Square 60G, available in front-facing, corner and three-sided versions at approximately 4.8kW.

This gives Wanders one of the broader choices of gas-fire viewing formats within a single manufacturer.

Balanced-Flue Gas Installation

Many Wanders gas fires use a balanced-flue system. This is a room-sealed arrangement that draws combustion air from outside while returning the combustion gases outdoors through the approved concentric flue.

This can provide greater flexibility than a conventional chimney-dependent gas fire, but the appliance, flue route and terminal position must still be designed together.

Wanders specifies approved flue components for its appliances, so the gas fire should not be paired with an arbitrary flue system.

Which Wanders Fire Is Right for Your Room?

Wanders covers a particularly broad output range, from approximately 5kW wood burners to gas and wood appliances exceeding 10kW.

The physical size of the fire should therefore not be used as a substitute for heat-loss calculation. Insulation, glazing, room volume, ceiling height and connected spaces should all be considered before choosing the output.

A wide or three-sided fire can often provide greater visual impact without requiring the largest available heat output.
