Fireline Wood Burning & Multi-Fuel Stoves

Fireline is one of the core solid-fuel stove ranges from Charlton & Jenrick, combining competitive pricing with a particularly broad choice of sizes, fuel types and door designs.

Rather than forcing customers into one fixed stove shape, Fireline makes it possible to choose a compact 4kW appliance, standard 5kW stove, wider 5kW firebox, large 8kW model or inset fire while retaining similar combustion technology and styling options.

Bonfire is an official UK Fireline distributor, supplying the range with optional professional survey and HETAS installation.

Fireline Woodtec – Dedicated Wood Burning

The Woodtec collection is designed specifically for customers who intend to burn seasoned logs rather than needing multi-fuel capability.

The standard Woodtec 5 provides a nominal output of approximately 5kW, while the 5W Wide, 5WD Wide Deep and 5XW Extra Wide models increase the physical size and flame view without automatically moving into a much higher heat-output category.

This is particularly useful where a broad fireplace opening needs a stove with greater visual presence but the room itself still only requires around 5kW.

Fireline also offers the Woodtec FCS Cylinder, providing a more contemporary rounded alternative to the conventional square stove format.

Fireline Multi-Fuel Door Styles

One of Fireline’s most distinctive features is the ability to choose different door designs around a similar stove body.

Depending on the size, current styles include:

  • FX – curved traditional door
  • FP – substantial square door
  • FQ – cleaner contemporary design with a large viewing window
  • FT – traditional tracery detailing
  • FA – arched cast-iron door

This means the same approximate output and fireplace dimensions can be paired with a door that better suits either a cottage-style inglenook or a cleaner modern interior.

Fireline 5kW Stoves

A large part of the Fireline range centres around the popular 5kW nominal output.

The FX5 and FQ5 provide standard-width multi-fuel options, while the 5W family creates a broader flame picture without a substantial increase in nominal output.

This is useful because fireplace proportions and heat requirement are two different decisions. A wide chimney breast may visually benefit from a larger stove even where an 8kW appliance would be excessive.

Fireline 8kW Stoves

For larger rooms, Fireline offers substantial 8kW multi-fuel stoves in several door styles.

The FA8, FP8, FQ8, FT8 and FX8 share a large firebox and broad flame view while allowing customers to choose between arched, square, contemporary, tracery and curved-door designs.

These are genuinely high-output appliances and should be chosen for rooms with an appropriate calculated heat requirement rather than simply because the larger body fills an inglenook more effectively.

Fireline Ecostar – Freestanding or Inset

The Ecostar collection provides another useful choice: the same general stove concept is available as either a freestanding appliance or an inset fire.

Current versions include the Ecostar 5 and Ecostar 5 Wide, both with multi-fuel capability.

The standard-width model reaches efficiencies above 80%, while the Wide version gives a broader flame view for larger openings.

An inset installation creates a cleaner flush appearance, while the freestanding version retains more of the traditional stove form within the fireplace chamber.

Fireline FPi Inset Stoves

The FPi range is designed specifically for inset installation and can be useful when upgrading an existing fireplace without wanting a freestanding stove projecting significantly into the room.

Current Bonfire options include 5kW, wide 5kW and 8kW variants, allowing the appliance to be matched to both the opening dimensions and heating requirement.

Multi-Fuel or Wood Burning?

Choose Woodtec where seasoned logs will be the primary fuel and you do not need the additional grate and ash-management components associated with smokeless fuel.

Choose the FX, FP, FQ, FT, FA, Ecostar or FPi families where suitable authorised smokeless fuel capability is important alongside wood.

The exact permitted fuels should always be checked against the individual appliance instructions.

DEFRA, Ecodesign & clearSkies

The current Fireline collection is designed to meet modern UK clean-burning requirements. Current models include appliances that are DEFRA-exempt, Ecodesign compliant and clearSkies Level 4 or 5 certified.

Fireline’s current 5kW and 8kW ranges are DEFRA-exempt for burning seasoned wood in Smoke Control Areas, while clearSkies certification provides an additional measure of emissions performance.

Always confirm certification against the exact model before installation.

Choosing the Correct Fireline Stove

Start with the heat requirement, then consider the width of the fireplace, preferred fuel and styling.

For example, a room requiring around 5kW does not automatically need a narrow stove. A Woodtec 5XW or wide multi-fuel model can provide the visual scale needed for a broad fireplace while maintaining a sensible nominal output.

Our stove calculator can provide an initial heat-output estimate before final specification.

Fireline Installation by Bonfire

Bonfire can supply the stove only or provide a complete Fireline installation service, including hearths, chambers, chimney assessment, flexible liners, twin-wall chimney systems, HETAS installation, commissioning and aftercare.
