Traforart Designer & Suspended Fireplaces
Traforart is a Spanish designer and manufacturer specialising in sculptural metal fireplaces for contemporary interiors.
With more than 40 years dedicated to domestic fire, Traforart develops its products from the initial design through to manufacture, combining steel, cast iron, ceramic glass, heat-resistant coatings and modern combustion technology.
The current Bonfire collection focuses primarily on high-impact wood-burning fireplaces from the Admeto and Doria ranges, including central, suspended, corner and wall-mounted formats.
These are not simply larger versions of a conventional freestanding stove. They are architectural products that need to be considered alongside the room layout, structure, chimney route and final interior design from the beginning of the project.

Traforart Admeto Central – 360° Fire View
The Admeto Central is designed to sit away from a conventional wall or chimney breast and become a focal point within the middle of a room.
Its circular glazed firebox provides a 360° view of the flames, making it particularly suitable for large open-plan living areas where the fire needs to be visible from several seating or dining zones.
The current central model has a nominal output of approximately 10kW, making it a substantial heating appliance as well as a design feature.
This output should be properly matched to the property; a dramatic central fireplace can easily produce more heat than a smaller or highly insulated room requires.
Suspended Traforart Fireplaces
Suspended fireplaces are one of Traforart’s strongest design specialities.
Instead of sitting on a conventional hearth or plinth, the firebox appears to hang within the room, creating a much lighter and more sculptural appearance.
Current Bonfire options include:
- Central suspended fireplaces
- Front-facing suspended fires
- Corner suspended models
- Oblique or angled versions
Suspended installation requires considerably more planning than a standard stove because the structure, flue support, ceiling arrangement and overall weight all need to be considered as part of the design.
Admeto Front-Facing Fireplace
The Admeto Front Facing is designed for situations where the fire should be viewed primarily from one direction rather than from all sides.
It combines a wide panoramic fire opening with a suspended body, creating a clean architectural feature against a wall while maintaining the appearance of a floating fireplace.
Current technical documentation gives the frontal Admeto a nominal output of approximately 12.2kW with efficiency around 77%.
This makes it particularly suited to substantial rooms rather than average-sized living spaces.
Rear-Vent Admeto – Hide the Flue Route
The Admeto Front Facing Rear Vent solves a different design problem.
Instead of taking the flue visibly upwards from the top of the fireplace, the smoke outlet is arranged towards the rear, allowing the flue system to be incorporated more discreetly into the surrounding structure where technically possible.
This can create the impression that the firebox is floating without a prominent vertical flue immediately above it.
It is particularly useful in minimalist interiors where the fireplace is intended to appear as visually clean as possible.
Traforart Corner Fireplaces
The Admeto is also available in several corner-oriented formats.
The Suspended Corner and Wall Mounted Corner models allow a sculptural fire to be positioned where a conventional central or flat-wall installation would be impractical.
Current corner specifications give a nominal output of approximately 12.2kW with efficiency around 77%.
These are therefore visually space-efficient designs, but they are not low-output appliances. The heating requirement must still support their performance.
Admeto Oblique
The Admeto Oblique adds an angled firebox to the same architectural family.
This allows the fireplace to be directed towards a particular seating area rather than aligning squarely with the wall or room.
It can work especially well in open-plan interiors where furniture, glazing and circulation do not follow a conventional rectangular layout.
Traforart Doria – Handcrafted Character
The Doria takes a noticeably different approach from the sharper geometry of the Admeto.
Traforart creates the distinctive Doria form using a clay mould, giving the fireplace a softer, more handcrafted appearance.
Bonfire currently offers frontal suspended and middle-room versions with a nominal output of approximately 8.9kW.
Different one-sided and double-sided configurations allow the fireplace to be adapted to the architecture and viewing direction required.
Wood, Gas, Bioethanol & Electric Traforart Fires
The wider Traforart collection extends beyond wood burning.
Depending on the design, the manufacturer offers selected fireplaces in wood, gas, bioethanol and electric formats. This gives architects and homeowners greater freedom where a particular fireplace shape is wanted but the property cannot accommodate a traditional wood-burning installation.
Bonfire’s current online category is primarily concentrated on wood-burning Admeto and Doria models, so alternative fuel versions should be treated as project-specific enquiries rather than assumed to be stocked products.
Bespoke & Custom Traforart Fireplaces
Traforart increasingly positions its fireplaces as architectural products rather than fixed catalogue objects.
Selected designs can be adapted with different proportions, support arrangements, chimney configurations and finishes to suit the building.
RAL colour finishes are available on certain models, allowing the fireplace to either blend with the interior architecture or become a deliberate contrasting feature.
This makes Traforart particularly relevant to:
- Architect-led residential projects
- Luxury extensions
- Large open-plan interiors
- Hotels and hospitality environments
- Contemporary new-build properties
- Bespoke interior design projects
Double Combustion & Metal Construction
Traforart uses robust materials including steel, cast iron and ceramic glass alongside heat-resistant finishes.
Selected models use double-combustion technology, introducing additional air to support more complete combustion.
Many Traforart fireplaces also use a double external casing or ventilated structure, allowing warm air to circulate around the firebox while helping manage external surface temperatures.
Planning a Traforart Installation
Traforart fireplaces should ideally be specified early in the building or refurbishment process.
Before ordering, consider:
- Calculated heat requirement
- Fireplace position within the room
- Structural ceiling or wall support
- Flue route and termination position
- Combustible clearances
- Floor and hearth requirements
- Combustion ventilation
- Access for installation
- Future servicing and chimney sweeping
This is particularly important for suspended and central models because changing the flue or structural arrangement after the room has been completed can be difficult.
