Chesneys Fireplace Surrounds

Chesneys fireplace surrounds form one of the largest parts of the collection, ranging from restrained bolection surrounds to substantial architectural and period designs.

Natural limestone and marble are central to the range, with materials including Volakas, Carrara, Arabescato, Nero Marquina and distinctive Viola marbles available across selected designs. Natural stone varies from block to block, particularly highly figured marble, so photographs should always be treated as representative rather than identical to the finished piece.

Popular designs include the Wren Bolection, Milo, Scarpa, Alderney, Manhattan, Classic Victorian, Devonshire and Stirling, covering contemporary, Georgian, Victorian and more architectural interiors.

Choosing the Right Chesneys Fireplace

A fireplace should be chosen in proportion to the room and chimney breast rather than simply by the overall width shown online. Shelf width, opening size, height and depth all affect how the surround sits within the room.

The appliance behind the surround also matters. A wood-burning stove, gas fire, electric fire or fire basket can require different hearths, slips, chambers and clearances, so the complete fireplace should ideally be specified together rather than as separate components.

For unusual dimensions or a particular material, Bonfire can also assist with bespoke fireplace surrounds and mantels.

Chesneys Wood Burning Stoves

Chesneys wood-burning stoves combine traditional and contemporary stove styling with modern combustion performance.

The Salisbury is one of the best-known Chesneys stove families, with different outputs and configurations available. Current Salisbury models include 4kW, 5kW, log-store and larger-output versions, with selected models DEFRA-exempt for use with specified fuel in Smoke Control Areas.

Always check the specification of the exact appliance rather than assuming every Chesneys stove has the same output or exemption status.

Gas, Bioethanol & Electric Chesneys Fires

Chesneys also offers alternatives where a traditional wood-burning installation is not appropriate.

Gas fires and stoves provide controllable real-flame heat, while the Alchemy bioethanol collection allows real flames without a conventional chimney or gas supply in suitable installations. Electric products provide another option where installation flexibility and flame effect are the priorities.

Chesneys Fireplace & Stove Installation

Bonfire provides optional professional installation for Chesneys fireplaces, stoves and fires.

Depending on the project, this can include a home survey, fireplace and hearth specification, chimney preparation, flue or liner installation, fitting of the surround and appliance, commissioning and certification where applicable.

Specifying the complete installation from the outset is particularly important with natural stone fireplaces, where opening sizes, hearth dimensions, slips and appliance clearances need to work together.
