Rather than using an open fire-pit design, most RB73 fireplaces enclose the fire behind glass and vent the smoke vertically through a chimney. This provides a clearer view of the flames while helping keep smoke, ash and sparks away from the seating area.

Why Choose CorTen Steel?

CorTen is one of the defining materials used across the RB73 range.

It is designed to develop a protective oxidised outer layer when exposed to the weather. The resulting rust-brown patina is intentional and helps protect the underlying steel while giving every fireplace a slightly different appearance.

This makes CorTen particularly suitable for outdoor use because it can remain outside throughout the seasons without needing the painted finish of a conventional steel product.

RB73 Quaruba L, XL or XXL?

The Quaruba is the core RB73 collection and is available in three sizes: L, XL and XXL.

The main decision is therefore how much physical presence you want on the terrace rather than simply choosing between completely different fireplace designs.

The XL is approximately 95cm high, while the XXL increases to approximately 105cm. The larger models create a more substantial architectural feature and allow the flames to sit more prominently within the outdoor space.

Choose 1, 2, 3 or 4 Glass Sides

One of the most useful features of the Quaruba is the ability to choose how many sides are glazed.

• 1 glass side – focuses heat and flame view towards one seating area
• 2 glass sides – useful for corner positioning
• 3 glass sides – provides a broader panoramic view while retaining a solid rear panel
• 4 glass sides – maximises flame visibility from around the fireplace

RB73 uses its SGI clean-glass system on the glazed sides of the Quaruba, creating airflow close to the glass to help reduce deposits while supporting combustion.

If the fireplace is positioned near a wall or fence, a three-sided model with a solid rear panel and optional heat shield may be more appropriate than glazing all four sides.

Fixed or Mobile RB73 Fireplace?

Quaruba models are supplied either on adjustable legs or with an optional mobile platform with castors.

A fixed fireplace works well where the terrace layout is unlikely to change. A mobile model can be moved between different seating areas or repositioned according to the weather and how the garden is being used.

Because these are substantial steel appliances rather than lightweight patio heaters, the mobile base is particularly useful where flexibility is important.

RB73 Fennek 50 & Fennek 80

The Fennek 50 and Fennek 80 provide a more design-led alternative to the Quaruba and were created by Dutch designer Roderick Vos.

Both are available with either:

• Three glass sides and a solid concrete rear wall
• Four-sided glazing

The internal sides incorporate air channels that direct airflow towards the glass, helping keep the viewing panels cleaner while the fire is burning.

The Fennek 80 provides the larger format and works particularly well where the outdoor fire needs to become a stronger visual feature within the garden.

RB73 Quercus – Outdoor Fireplace & Oven

The Quercus combines a three-sided outdoor fireplace with an integrated cooking oven.

The fire remains primarily an outdoor heater and visual fireplace, but heat from the firebox is also used by the separate oven chamber above.

The oven includes a pizza stone and can be used for:

• Pizza
• Bread
• Roasted dishes
• General outdoor oven cooking

The upper steel surface also becomes hot during use and can provide an additional cooking or warming area.

This makes Quercus particularly suitable where outdoor heating and cooking are intended to form part of the same terrace or outdoor-kitchen area.

The Piquia provides a more compact RB73 fireplace for smaller patios and terraces.
