Please Note We currently are sub-contracting our gas fire servicing. We have a handpicked selection of the finest and most reputable gas servicers.

As well as wood burners, we also provide professional servicing for gas fires. This ensures your appliance is safe, efficient, and compliant with regulations.

Our gas fire servicing includes:

Safety checks for leaks & ventilation
Inspection & cleaning of burners, injectors & pilot assembly
Flue integrity tests
Performance checks for efficiency & flame picture

All gas work is carried out by fully qualified Gas Safe engineers.

Service Terms & Conditions

The cost of replacement parts is not included in the service price. If required, these will be quoted separately. Chimney sweeping is provided for maintenance purposes only and does not include a formal inspection report. Appliances must be fully cooled and free of burning fuel prior to service. Customers are responsible for providing suitable parking and safe access to the property. While every effort is made to leave the area clean and tidy, please note that wood-burning appliances naturally produce dust. Payment is required prior to the scheduled visit unless alternative arrangements have been agreed in writing. All services are carried out by a HETAS-registered installer in full compliance with safety regulations. Any additional visits or spare parts will be quoted and charged separately. The “two appliances” plan applies only to appliances located at the same property. A further call-out charge will apply for additional locations. Servicing is included within a 30-mile radius. Please request a quote for properties located further afield.

What locations do you cover?

We’re renowned stove service engineers within a 30 mile radius of our Reading, Berkshire showroom.

We also provide services for Buckinghamshire, Hampshire, London, Oxfordshire and Surrey.

Will the stove service make a mess?

We cover all surfaces near the stove prior to your service to ensure that area is safe and protected. Servicing a stove can be a very messy job at times and so we use the most efficient and current tools to reduce this.

How long will a service take?

On average you can expect our team to service your stove within an hour. However, in the event of any unforseen circumstances the service may take slightly longer.

How often should I service my wood stove?

This varies depending on usage and fuels burnt. We recommend servicing your stove at least a minimum of once a year. If used regularly then you may require two services a year.

How much will a stove service cost?

Our cost is transparent and includes everything required to clean and service your stove. The current cost of our service is £179.00

How do I book a service?

You can book your service via our form, by email or phone.

What if my stove is not fit for purpose?

If your wood burning stove is deemed unsafe or unfit for purpose by our engineer then a notice will be provided to discourage its use.

Thereafter, we will offer advice on possible remedies and our surveyor may call to arrange an appointment and provide costs to make the appliance or installation safe.

What if you cannot service my stove, will I get a refund?

If your wood burning stove is condemned or deemed unsuitable, we are unable to offer a full refund as we have already attended our scheduled appointment. However, we will offer advice as to possible remedies and if it is a recent installation, not carried out by Bonfire, we may advise that you contact your installer regarding possible remedies.
