The Stûv 16/68 Cube wood burning stove is the intermediate width model in the Stûv 16 Cube range, offering a balance between compact design and a larger firebox for longer logs. It is designed for customers who want a contemporary wood burning stove with flexible installation possibilities, but need more width and fire capacity than the narrow 16/58 version.
As the middle size in the range, the 16/68 sits in a very usable position. It retains the clean, subtle cube styling of the Stûv 16 family, while allowing logs up to 50 cm in length. That makes it better suited to customers who want a broader firebed and slightly more substantial flame picture without stepping up to the widest model. Like the other Stûv 16 Cube stoves, it can be installed on the floor, on a brickwork base, on a dedicated Stûv base or on furniture. The hinged door is intended for refuelling only, with the stove operating solely in closed door mode to support efficient combustion and cleaner operation.
The technical design focuses on controlled, efficient burning. A single control beneath the stove adjusts the three air supplies, while the double combustion system helps optimise wood use and reduce ash production. In performance terms, the 16/68 offers a 7.4 kW nominal output, an output range of 3.5 to 8.9 kW, nominal efficiency of 77.0% and an energy efficiency class of A. It supports direct outside air connection, can be paired with an optional fan, and is compatible with Stûv’s modular storage bases and log trolley format.

Expert Insight
The 16/68 is arguably the most versatile size in the range because it balances presence and practicality. It gives a wider firebox and longer log length than the 16/58, but without taking on the fuller scale of the 16/78. That can make it easier to specify in mainstream living spaces where the stove needs to feel substantial without becoming dominant.
Its compatibility with optional fan assistance is also useful where a more even spread of warm air is wanted, especially in larger open plan rooms or layouts where convected heat needs a little more help moving through the space.
Suitability
The Stûv 16/68 Cube wood burning stove is well suited to medium sized living rooms, design led renovations, energy efficient homes and interiors where a wider flame picture and longer log length are wanted without moving to the largest stove body. It is a strong choice for customers who want a balanced mix of scale, performance and flexibility.
Installation / Technical Notes
