The Exodraft ESP-25 Electrostatic Particle Filter is an inline chimney filtration system designed specifically for non-condensing pellet boilers with a maximum heat output of up to 25kW. Installed directly into an existing indoor chimney structure above the boiler, it provides an effective way to reduce harmful fine and ultrafine particles within the flue gases before they are discharged.
The ESP-25 uses electrostatic filtration technology to reduce the number of fine and ultrafine particles by up to 99.5%, while reducing total particle mass by up to 90%. This makes it a valuable addition to suitable pellet boiler installations where reducing particulate emissions is a key priority.
Designed as an integrated inline filter, the ESP-25 connects to a standard 150mm diameter chimney pipe and should be positioned at least 500mm above the boiler. Its compact chimney-mounted design allows it to be incorporated into suitable existing systems without requiring a separate external filtration unit.
The filter can be configured for either automatic or manual operation. With automatic operation, it connects directly to the pellet boiler so that the filter switches on and off at the same time as the appliance. This avoids unnecessary power consumption when the boiler is not operating. Where a direct connection is unavailable, the ESP-25 can instead be controlled manually using an on/off switch located at the bottom of the filter.
Routine cleaning is straightforward using the supplied cleaning brush. As a general guide, Exodraft recommends cleaning after approximately 1,000kg of wood pellets have been burned, although boilers operating closer to the maximum 25kW capacity may require more frequent maintenance than appliances operating between 10kW and 16kW.
The ESP-25 is suitable for continuous flue gas temperatures of up to 200°C and can tolerate short-term temperatures of up to 250°C. It must only be installed on chimney systems operating under negative pressure, and the pellet boiler must be correctly adjusted for efficient combustion to avoid excessive soot, chimney fire risk or damage to the filter.
With its compact inline design, substantial particle reduction and flexible control options, the Exodraft ESP-25 Particle Filter provides a practical emissions-reduction solution for compatible pellet boiler and chimney systems.

Expert Insight
The ESP-25 is intended for a very specific type of installation and should not be treated as a universal chimney filter. Boiler output, fuel quality, combustion settings, chimney pressure and flue temperature all need to be confirmed before installation. Correct boiler combustion is especially important because excessive soot or unusually high temperatures could damage the filter.
Suitability
The Exodraft ESP-25 Electrostatic Particle Filter is suitable for non-condensing pellet boilers up to 25kW connected to an indoor 150mm negative-pressure chimney system. It is not intended for wood-burning stoves, open fires, condensing boilers or positive-pressure flue systems.
Installation / Technical Notes
The ESP-25 must be installed directly into the chimney at least 500mm above the pellet boiler. It is designed for a standard 150mm diameter chimney pipe and can only be used with negative-pressure chimney systems.
The filter is suitable for continuous flue gas temperatures up to 200°C and short-term maximum temperatures up to 250°C. The connected appliance must be a non-condensing pellet boiler with a maximum heat output of 25kW.
The filter measures 750mm high x 177mm wide and weighs approximately 8kg. It can be wired for automatic operation with the boiler or connected to a separate manual switch.
The filter and boiler must be switched off before cleaning. Cleaning frequency will depend on boiler output, operating hours, fuel quality and combustion conditions.
