The Schiedel ICID Adjustable Starter Section 1000mm is a twin wall flue starting component designed to connect the ICID chimney system to the appliance. Available for 125mm (5″) and 150mm (6″) internal flue diameters, its adjustable construction also allows the appliance connection to be accessed again for servicing and re-installation.
The starter section is installed by inserting the male spigot of the liner into the appliance spigot. The connection is then sealed and insulated before the outer case is slid down to cover the stove spigot.
This arrangement is particularly useful when future servicing needs to be considered. Removal follows the installation process in reverse, allowing the starter section to be disconnected and subsequently re-installed without treating the entire chimney system as a fixed connection to the appliance.
At 1000mm in length, this component combines the appliance connection and starter section within a substantial first section of the ICID twin wall system.
Two versions are available for 125mm (5″) and 150mm (6″) internal flue diameters. The correct option should be selected to correspond with both the appliance connection arrangement and the adjoining ICID chimney system.
The wider ICID Plus system is designed with a load-bearing outer case, while the inner liner can expand independently. This allows thermal expansion to be accommodated within each joint of the chimney system.

Installation / Technical Notes
