The Schiedel Support Plate for ICS twin wall flue is a support component for use within the Schiedel insulated chimney system. Available for 130mm (5″) and 150mm (6″) internal flue diameters, it allows the correct support plate to be selected to match the corresponding chimney system size.
The support plate forms part of the Schiedel ICS support component range. It is intended to provide support within the chimney installation rather than acting as a flue gas-carrying section.
Schiedel ICS is a twin wall insulated chimney system designed for open and closed stoves, open fires, and residential or small commercial multi-fuel appliances. The system is rated for continuous operating temperatures of up to 450°C, with short firing temperatures up to 550°C.
The associated ICS system uses a push-fit jointing arrangement secured by locking bands. Its construction incorporates laser-welded 316L stainless steel inner liners, a 304 stainless steel outer case and a 25mm Superwool insulation blanket.
The sleeve-joint construction allows the insulation to remain continuous along the length of the chimney system, while the jointing arrangement increases rigidity and allows condensate to drain within the flue. A capillary break is also incorporated into the system joint to help prevent moisture being drawn through it.
Two support plate sizes are available, corresponding with 130mm and 150mm internal flue diameters. The appropriate option should therefore be selected according to the diameter of the Schiedel ICS chimney system being installed.
