The Chesneys Scarpa Reduced 54″ Arabescato Marble Fireplace Surround combines the compact proportions of the Scarpa Reduced with the expressive movement of natural Italian Arabescato marble.
Its design draws strongly on Art Deco principles, using controlled geometry and broad architectural surfaces rather than applied decoration. Carefully selected stone can be cut to create a book-matched effect across the two pilasters, allowing the natural veining to mirror from one side of the fireplace to the other.
Arabescato is one of the most recognisable Italian marbles, typically featuring an ivory-toned background with veins ranging from dusty grey to much darker charcoal movement. Against the disciplined form of the Scarpa Reduced, this natural patterning creates a deliberate contrast between precise architecture and unpredictable stone.
The fireplace measures 1371.5mm / 54″ wide x 1117.5mm / 44″ high. Its opening is 965mm / 38″ wide x 914.5mm / 36″ high, giving the design a broader aspect than the conventional 36″ square opening found on many traditional mantels.
