Our bespoke Portuguese limestone slip sets are made to measure and cut to size for use with fireplace surrounds, stove openings, gas fires, electric fires and traditional fireplace chambers.
Portuguese limestone is a popular natural stone choice thanks to its soft neutral colour, subtle fossil detail and timeless appearance. Its warm beige tones work well with both traditional and contemporary fireplace designs, making it a versatile option for many interiors.
Each slip set can be supplied as either a 3-piece or 4-piece set depending on your fireplace requirements. The slips are carefully cut from natural limestone and optional finished internal/ external edges to create a neat, clean frame around the fireplace opening.
As this is a bespoke product, accurate measurements are required before manufacture. Please ensure all dimensions have been checked carefully, especially where the slips are being fitted into a fireplace surround rebate or around an appliance.

Finished Edges Options
Slip sets can be supplied with finished edges where they will be visible once installed. The diagrams above show the difference between external edge finishing and internal edge finishing for both 4-piece and 3-piece slip sets.
- External edges are the outside perimeter edges of the slip set. These may be visible where the slips sit proud of the wall or are viewed from the side.
- Internal edges are the edges around the fireplace opening. These are often visible when installed with a fireplace surround or around the fire, stove, chamber or insert.
Where required, any visible internal or external edges can be finished to match the main face of the material, giving the slip set a clean and consistent appearance. Please select the required edge finishing option based on which edges will be seen once fitted.
