The surround projects approximately 145mm / 5¾″ at the legs, giving the moulding its characteristic architectural depth. The current FDC drawing specifies a 30mm rebate, which should be taken into account when planning any slips, chamber lining, insert or appliance positioned within the fireplace.
Bianca Carrara may naturally contain tonal changes, mineral deposits, veins, small inclusions and brecciated areas. Where appropriate, these may be filled and finished during production to blend with the surrounding polished surface.
Customers can also request photographs of the actual surrounds currently available before ordering. This is particularly valuable with Carrara marble, allowing a preference to be expressed for quieter stone or a piece with more pronounced natural veining.
