The Schiedel ICID Adjustable Starter Section 600mm is a twin wall flue starting component designed to connect the ICID chimney system directly to the appliance. Available for 125mm (5″) and 150mm (6″) internal flue diameters, its sliding outer case allows the appliance connection to be accessed again for servicing without dismantling the full chimney system.
Installation involves inserting the male spigot of the liner into the appliance spigot before the connection is sealed and insulated. The outer case is then slid down to cover the stove spigot, completing the starter connection between the appliance and the ICID twin wall system.
The same arrangement also assists with future maintenance. Removal for servicing follows the installation process in reverse, allowing the appliance to be disconnected and later re-installed without moving the entire flue system.
At 600mm long, this version provides a shorter alternative to the 1000mm adjustable starter section where a more compact initial chimney section is appropriate to the installation.
Two versions are available to suit 125mm (5″) and 150mm (6″) internal flue diameters. The correct size should be selected to correspond with the appliance connection and the adjoining Schiedel ICID components.
The wider ICID Plus system is designed with a load-bearing outer case, while the inner liner is free to expand independently. This allows thermal expansion to be accommodated within each joint of the chimney system.
