The Schiedel Roof Support Bracket for ICS twin wall flue is designed to provide structural and lateral support as the chimney passes through a roof space. Available for 130mm (5″) and 150mm (6″) internal flue diameters, it can be used where the flue rises through either a normal or pitched roof angle.
The bracket supports the chimney by securing a band around the flue, with the accompanying side plates fixed to the roof trusses. This creates a supported point within the roof structure rather than leaving the chimney unsupported as it continues vertically through the building.
Its ability to provide both structural and lateral support is particularly relevant where the flue passes between roof timbers and requires additional restraint as part of the overall chimney layout.
The support plates are supplied with pre-drilled fixing holes, simplifying positioning and fixing to the roof trusses during installation.
Two versions are available to suit the corresponding Schiedel ICS system size: 130mm (5″) and 150mm (6″) internal flue diameter. The correct bracket should therefore be selected to match the flue system being installed.
The associated Schiedel ICS twin wall chimney system uses a push-fit jointing system secured with locking bands. Its construction includes laser-welded 316L stainless steel inner liners, a 304 stainless steel outer case and 25mm Superwool insulation; these are characteristics of the wider ICS chimney system rather than the roof support bracket itself.

Expert Insight
A roof support bracket is used to restrain the chimney where it passes through the roof structure, rather than simply supporting the weight of individual flue sections. The combination of a band around the chimney and plates fixed to the roof trusses provides both structural and lateral support at this point in the flue route.
Suitability
The Schiedel ICS Roof Support Bracket is intended for twin wall chimney installations where the flue passes through a roof space and requires additional support from the surrounding roof structure. It can accommodate both normal and pitched roof arrangements and is available for 130mm and 150mm internal flue systems.
Installation / Technical Notes
The support band is tightened around the chimney, while the side plates are fixed to the roof trusses using the pre-drilled fixing holes. Select the bracket size to match either a 130mm (5″) or 150mm (6″) internal flue diameter.
