The Chesneys Scarpa Reduced 54″ Nero Marquina Marble Fireplace Surround brings the strong geometry of the Scarpa design into a more compact proportion, combining Art Deco influence with the dramatic monochrome character of natural Nero Marquina marble.
The Scarpa Reduced is defined by its clean horizontal emphasis, deep jambs and precisely worked architectural detailing. At 54″ wide, it retains the sculptural character of the larger Scarpa while making the design easier to accommodate on smaller chimney breasts and within more compact rooms.
In Nero Marquina, the fireplace takes on a particularly graphic appearance. The marble’s deep black ground is broken by naturally occurring white veining, creating sharp contrast across the simple profile. Because the design itself is restrained, the stone becomes a major part of the visual character rather than competing with elaborate ornament.
