The Chesneys Brockhurst fireplace surround is inspired by the original chimneypiece found in the officers’ mess at Fort Brockhurst, a mid-19th century fort built to defend Portsmouth and its harbour. Although Victorian in date, the design reflects the refined proportions and restrained detailing of an earlier Regency style, giving it a timeless architectural presence.
Carved from Statuary marble, the Brockhurst combines classical elegance with subtle authority, making it equally suited to formal period rooms and sophisticated traditional interiors. Shown with The Kenwood I fire basket from the Chesneys English Heritage Collection, this surround is designed for open fires and delivers a strong sense of heritage craftsmanship and understated luxury.
