Charlton & Jenrick Solid-Fuel Stoves
Charlton & Jenrick has been manufacturing and supplying fireplace products since 1986. Within its wider portfolio, the company’s solid-fuel collection is built around three distinct stove brands: Fireline, Purevision and Go Eco.
Bonfire focuses specifically on these wood-burning and multi-fuel ranges rather than Charlton & Jenrick’s gas or electric products. This allows our team to concentrate on the appliance, fireplace, chimney and flue as one complete solid-fuel installation.
Fireline, Purevision or Go Eco?
Although all three ranges come from Charlton & Jenrick, they are aimed at different types of customer and installation.
| Range | Best For | Typical Designs |
|---|---|---|
| Fireline | Broad choice and strong value | Traditional, contemporary, wide and inset stoves |
| Purevision | Premium performance and larger flame views | Wide, panoramic, inset, pedestal and three-sided models |
| Go Eco | Practical and specialist applications | Conventional, circular, cooking, glamping and low-lintel stoves |
Fireline Stoves
Fireline provides the broadest conventional stove choice within the Charlton & Jenrick solid-fuel collection.
The range includes compact 4kW and 5kW appliances, wide and extra-wide models, larger 8kW stoves and inset fires. This makes Fireline particularly useful when you need to match a stove to an existing fireplace opening rather than redesigning the entire fireplace around one appliance.
The Woodtec family focuses on dedicated wood burning, with models such as the Woodtec 5, 5W Wide and 5XW Extra Wide providing progressively broader flame views without automatically requiring substantially more heat output.
Fireline also offers multi-fuel appliances where the ability to burn suitable authorised smokeless fuels is important.
Purevision Stoves
Purevision sits towards the more technically advanced and design-led end of the Charlton & Jenrick stove range.
Large glass areas are a defining feature, with standard, wide, slimline, inset and pedestal formats available. Current Purevision models use technologies including patented tertiary-air systems and Active Baffle designs intended to improve combustion and make starting and refuelling easier.
Purevision also offers some of the most distinctive stoves in the collection.
Purevision Linear
The LPV5 and LPV8 Linear models use glass on three sides to provide a panoramic flame view. They are dedicated wood burners rather than multi-fuel appliances and can be configured with different bases including leg stands, log stores, pedestals and wall-mounting options.
This makes the Linear range particularly suitable where the stove is intended to sit prominently within the room rather than being recessed deeply into a traditional fireplace.
Go Eco Stoves
Go Eco takes a more practical and lifestyle-led approach to stove design.
Alongside conventional wood-burning models, the wider range includes low-lintel appliances, cylindrical stoves, glamping models, outdoor fires and the Go Eco BakeChef, which combines a wood-burning stove with a full-sized oven and hot plate.
The Go Eco Circulus provides a more contemporary cylindrical alternative to the traditional square stove, while specialist models can suit off-grid, narrowboat and glamping applications where a conventional living-room stove may not be appropriate.
Charlton & Jenrick states that the current Go Eco range achieves Ecodesign certification, DEFRA exemption for burning wood logs in Smoke Control Areas and clearSkies certification.
Wood Burning or Multi-Fuel?
The correct choice depends primarily on what you intend to burn.
A dedicated wood-burning stove is designed specifically around properly seasoned logs. A multi-fuel stove normally incorporates a grate and ash-management system allowing suitable authorised smokeless fuels to be used as well, subject to the manufacturer’s instructions.
If you intend to burn wood almost exclusively, a dedicated wood burner is often the most straightforward choice. If fuel flexibility matters, Fireline and Purevision both include multi-fuel options.
Wide Stove or Higher Output?
A wider stove does not necessarily mean you need significantly more heat.
Models such as the Fireline Woodtec Wide and Purevision 5W ranges provide broader proportions and a larger flame view while retaining outputs around the popular 5kW level.
This is useful in wide fireplace chambers where a compact stove can look visually lost but an 8kW appliance would produce too much heat.
Conversely, larger 8–8.5kW models should be reserved for rooms with a genuine higher heating requirement.
DEFRA, Ecodesign & clearSkies
Modern Charlton & Jenrick solid-fuel ranges include many appliances carrying DEFRA exemption, Ecodesign compliance and clearSkies certification.
Purevision states that its current stove range is Ecodesign certified, DEFRA exempt for burning wood logs in Smoke Control Areas and clearSkies certified. Go Eco makes similar range-wide claims for its current collection.
Certification should still be checked against the exact appliance and permitted fuel before ordering, particularly when comparing older and newer Fireline products.
Choosing the Stove Around the Fireplace
Heat output is only one part of specifying a stove. The fireplace opening, hearth, chimney condition, flue diameter, ventilation requirements and combustible clearances all need to work with the selected appliance.
A shallow fireplace may favour a Slimline model, a broad chamber may suit a 5W or extra-wide stove, while a new freestanding installation may allow a Purevision Linear or Go Eco Circulus to become a stronger feature within the room.
You can use our stove calculator for an initial output estimate before final specification.

Charlton & Jenrick FAQs
Which Charlton & Jenrick ranges does Bonfire sell?
Bonfire focuses on Charlton & Jenrick’s solid-fuel ranges: Fireline, Purevision and Go Eco. We do not currently advertise or supply its gas or electric fire ranges.
What is the difference between Fireline and Purevision?
Fireline provides a broad selection of traditional, contemporary, wide and inset stoves, while Purevision places greater emphasis on advanced combustion technology, large glass areas and more distinctive formats such as panoramic three-sided models.
What is Go Eco?
Go Eco is Charlton & Jenrick’s practical stove collection and includes conventional wood burners alongside specialist circular, cooking, glamping and low-lintel appliances.
Are Charlton & Jenrick stoves DEFRA exempt?
Many current models are DEFRA-exempt, including the current Purevision and Go Eco ranges. Check the exact stove and permitted fuel before installation.
Does a wide 5kW stove produce more heat?
Not necessarily. Several wide Charlton & Jenrick models retain a nominal output around 5kW while providing a broader body and larger flame view.
Can I buy Fireline or Purevision online from Bonfire?
Fireline and Purevision products are currently supplied through our Berkshire showroom for suitable projects within our local service area rather than through nationwide online checkout.
Can Bonfire install my Charlton & Jenrick stove?
