The Stûv 30-compact low wood burning stove is a compact cylindrical stove designed to deliver high-efficiency heating in a lower, more space-conscious format. Developed as the compact version of the Stûv 30, it is particularly well suited to low-energy homes and compact dwellings, while still offering the brand’s distinctive rotating 3-door system and a useful 6 kW nominal output.
What makes this stove stand out is the way it combines compact proportions with flexible operation. The rotating drum allows you to switch between three modes of use in seconds. The glass door gives a wide, uninterrupted view of the flames while maintaining safe and efficient closed-door burning. The solid door slows the fire and optimises performance, while also hiding the combustion chamber when the stove is not in use. The loading door allows safer refuelling and can also be used when you want the feel of an open fire. This gives the stove far more versatility than a conventional compact wood burner with a fixed single-door design.
Despite its smaller footprint, the Stûv 30-compact low is built around advanced combustion control. The supplied data states efficiency above 80%, an energy efficiency class of A+, CO emissions of 0.09% and fine particle emissions of 18 mg/Nm³. The output can be adjusted across a 3 to 9 kW usage range, and the stove is designed to remain efficient even at half power. It accepts vertical logs up to 40 cm, has a built-in ashtray, and includes an integrated turning plate so the fire can be oriented more effectively within the room. It also supports direct outside air connection from beneath or behind, helping it suit more airtight or energy-efficient homes.

Expert Insight
The strength of the Stûv 30-compact low lies in how much functionality it offers in a smaller-format stove. The rotating 3-door system is not just a visual feature — it gives meaningful control over how the stove is used, whether the priority is flame view, slower burn control or safer refuelling. That makes it far more adaptable than many compact stoves aimed purely at small spaces.
The outside air connection is also particularly relevant in lower-energy or more airtight properties. Drawing combustion air from outside rather than from the room helps preserve internal air balance and supports better overall installation performance. The integrated turning plate adds another practical benefit, especially where the best fire view depends on the room layout.
Suitability
The Stûv 30-compact low wood burning stove is well suited to compact living spaces, energy-efficient homes, wood-framed properties and interiors where a premium stove is needed without moving to a larger format. It is a strong choice for customers who want efficient wood burning performance, a flexible 3-door system and a clean cylindrical design in a more compact stove body.
Installation / Technical Notes
The stove is made from steel and cast iron and finished in Stûv grey. It measures 1040 mm high, 465 mm wide and 447 mm deep, with a net weight of 114 kg. It uses a 150 mm top flue outlet and a 63 mm outside air inlet. The stated minimum draw is 12 Pa, smoke mass flow is 4.9 g/s, and average smoke temperature is 302°C. Minimum insulation thickness between the stove and combustible materials is listed as 10 cm at the back and 10 cm at the sides.
Operating Mode:
The stove can draw combustion air from a direct external air intake, positioned either beneath or behind the appliance, creating an airtight system through the air supply, combustion chamber and flue.

As the stove burns, convection air moves around the chamber to capture heat from the smoke, naturally releasing warm air into the room while an airwash system helps keep the glass clear for a better view of the flames.
Outside Air Kit:
The Stuv 30 Compact One can be connected to the outside air, either under the device or behind the stove.

Ash Container:
Even though not to be used often, this stove has a built in ash container.

Floor Plate Option:
Optional circular or oval floor plates that are specifically designed for this stove.

Barbecue Option:
An optional bbq kit can be fitted to the front to work with radiant heat to cook food.
